Samantha Preston has her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and taught in Plano for 9 years as a certified teacher. She taught for 7 of those years at a Title I school and loved the work she was able to do with her certifications in both ESL and Gifted and Talented. Samantha taught a math program called Math Rocks in its beginning in Plano and loved getting to challenge and help kids grow into their love for learning math. In this exciting math program, students are receiving high school level credit when they reach 7th grade. Her third, fourth, and fifth grade students were able to take part

in the AMC 8 and 10 math competition which is typically reserved for higher performing middle school students. She won’t be the one to advertise this fact, but Samantha was nominated for Teacher of the Year on three separate occasions. She also has her Master’s in Counseling from one of the nation’s top programs, University of North Texas. Humans growing and learning is a passion of Samantha’s and she is very excited to begin her homeschool journey with her own two children this coming school year. For a little fun fact, Samantha was a competitive figure skater when she was younger and coached Special Olympics for many years.
